-----Update-----
We decided we couldn't be arsed to wait 10 months to earn a significant amount of money from mochiads, so mofunzone agreed to sponsor the game instead, even after release ^.^

Game Design, Programming - Me
Graphical Design (and lots of general input) - Pags
Music - GS-Screamer, ParagonX9 (links can be found in the credits)
It's finished, fiiinally =]
(It was mainly held up by coursework, which recently died)
Everyone so far has said that it's really hard, but hey, i hate making easy games. Makes it more rewarding!
I'll probably write a better explanation of the game later, but i'm too tired at the moment. Just read the tutorial & stuff, it's all in there (i hope). And if you find ANYTHING wrong i'd really appreciate you telling me before this ends up all over the internet x.x
Oh, and the name is silly, yes. We had a fun game trying to come up with the most ridiculous name we possibly could, as is the tradition for 2D space games =]
I'm sorry about the adverts, but we wouldn't be able to spend the amount of time we do on this stuff if we didn't get paid (leaves no time for things like saturday jobs), and using an Ad network instead of getting sponsored by a games website means we get to keep all the rights to the game. I think there's some filter thingy you can put on to remove ads from the game in certain places, so i might try updating with that soon (i cant just remove the advert code from the game in the deviantArt version because then websites would run off with that version instead of the one with the ads).
Finally, thank you to everyone who tested it. I'll try and put a full list together later, but i think the prize for most bugs found goes to 's friend Will =]
This is a good sign. Maybe i should be slightly worried that the only two people who have commented are two of the best actionscripters on deviantArt... but i'll reserve doubt until it's been through newgrounds.
Hmm. Two complains. One thing is that i don't feel speed... I think adding some effect that shows speed would be nice. Like one mroe lair where stars are... Or something. Als cnaging a little code with camera would be a good idea. Right nwo camera is sitcked to the controled ship. But what if make it little bit hanging(inerting). So that if you make sudden turn it does not follow you right away but inerts a little instead.
Other complain is that afterbooster does not seem to add much speed. At least i havent notcied any change i nspeed at all. Computers behind me were folowing me and after i sued afterbooster nothign changed. They stil lwere folowing me on a same distance... MAy be i was doing osmething wrong...

The afterburner hits zero if you shoot or get shot, so you have to avoid their shots for a few seconds to use it. I made it that way because it made the game much too easy otherwise, and i hate easy games x.x
As for the camera thing, i normal use camera inertia in everything just to give the feeling of speed, but after a while i decided that it just didn't feel right in this =/
I had to settle on just using stars and ship trails... and the afterburner actually helps the feeling once you get it working XD
Heh thanks. To be hoenst game is really great. BUt it does not give me the right feeleing to it. Usualy such games should make feeling of collosal space... And colossal speeds. But as i said it does not... I don't feel the ship i fly on... And that lucks so much for me ;(

It was my obsession with forcing you to play on the same terms as the AI x.x
You have a single solid turning speed, and no momentum. Basically because to make it any more complicated would hugely reduce the number of ships it could support
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
